Shape optimization for composite materials in linear elasticity

Abstract This article is devoted to the optimal design of microstructure in composite materials, which are governed by equations linear elasticity. To this end, we combine homogenization with shape optimization. In particular, determine sensitivity homogenized coefficients elasticity tensor respect periodic also case spatially varying material coefficients. We compute respective Hadamard gradient and demonstrate applicability feasibility our approach numerical experiments for different problem settings.
